Meet Our Board


Executive Director

      Allie Barnett is a Bachelors prepared Registered Nurse and PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. She has working experience as a mental health nurse, specializing in youth and small group therapy. She has taught therapeutic riding to children and adolescents with a variety of emotional, cognitive, and physical disabilities. Her life long dream has been to start a “safe haven” for struggling youth. Safe Haven Equine Ministries is the manifestation of that dream. Her passion is to nurture healing and empower youth who struggle with problems such as depression and anxiety. 



Chair of Farm MAnagement

        Jeremy Barnett has his Bachelors of Biblical and Theological Studies and Masters of Biblical Studies and Masters of Theological Studies. He has years of experience with youth and currently works as a full time youth pastor, catering to the needs of middle school and high school students within his church. Jeremy’s passion is to share the truth of the Bible and challenge teens to think in a new way about their faith. He currently does most day to day activities on the farm including care of the horses and maintaining the property.


Chris White

Chair of facility improvement

         Chris has his degree in Civil Engineering and is a Registered Professional Civil/Structural Engineer. He is very involved at the farm with hands-on projects. He serves on the board to assist in developing our facilities and always has great ideas on new ventures for Safe Haven!


Amanda White

Chair of Fundraising/Networking

Amanda has her Bachelors of Business Administration with a focus in Finance and a Masters in Health Administration. She helps Safe Haven stay connected in the community and assist with all fundraising ventures. She is often found at the farm sharing ideas, working hard, or cuddling our farm dog, Oscar. 

Stephanie WIllis

CHAIR Of marketing

Stephanie is working on her Bachelors in Integrated Strategic Communication with a focus in Business. She is our marketing/social media/retail guru. Her positive, go-getter attitude keeps our marketing strong. She will soon be a fellow tiny house dweller and enjoys Safe Haven's view on simplicity and eco-friendliness. 

Gladys barnett

CHAIR OF Finances

Gladys has 25 plus years experience in finances and has her Bachelors in Accounting. She helps keep our finances organized and keeps us on track and productive when fundraising! Her smile and work ethic are a huge blessing to the board!


Stephanie Jenkins

Secretary of the board

Stephanie keeps us all on track and accountable for our responsibilities. She not only serves as secretary of our board meetings but is often found at the farm cleaning tack or assisting with equine care projects! A horse-lover at heart, she feels serving on the board at Safe Haven is a form of "returning home". She has her Associates in Respiratory Therapy and is working on her Bachelors of Public Administration. 


Katie Strayer

CHAIR of farm organization and equine care

Katie keeps us all smiling as she serves on the board by keeping our barn organized and our horses well cared for. She's often found "cuddling" the miniatures or kissing the noses of the horses in the field. She is working on a double Bachelors in Equine Management and Psychology.
